“Voices for Vaccines”

Michigan Voices, Michigan’s statewide civic engagement collaborative table, educates, engages, activates, and protects underrepresented and disenfranchised communities and ensures their full and equitable access to the democratic process.
Their Voices for Vaccines campaign aimed to reduce vaccine hesitancy and increase vaccination rates in medically-underserved and BIPOC-dense communities with the message that the COVID-19 vaccines were safe, effective, and free.

As community leaders, Michigan Voices partner organizations sprang into action as first responders when the COVID-19 pandemic hit their communities hard. The deep commitment of MV’s partners to meeting the needs of their communities put MV in a unique position to administer a $1 million grant from US Health Resources & Services Administration with the goal of reducing vaccine hesitancy and increasing vaccination rates.
The Voices for Vaccines program targeted medically underserved Black, Brown, and Indigenous-dense communities with low vaccination rates. The message was that COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and free.
